Another day

Out and about yesterday roaming around the ruins of church and state - or, more accurately, the ruins of state and the very much still functioning church. It's a sobering thought that while the castle and power base of the nobless oblige stands as a mute testament to time and man's folly, the church it as powerful and glorious as ever.

How ironic that this is only in the architecture.

This cryptic post brought to you by the letters L and C.

Setting up mail

So, I'm setting up a new yahoo mail account (no, I'm not going to give the address out just yet - use the one at dodgeit.com to talk for now) with the objective being to check mail on the run via the wonderful wap.oa.yahoo.com on the ipaq. I want it to collect the email from my other accounts, and let me see them in a clean, tidy interface, all without cluttering up the ipaq with the messages - perfect.

Except nothing is ever perfect.

Checking the mail on the other servers (three of them, if you're interested in such trivia), I get:

Unfortunately, there was a problem:
POP server does not support LAST command. You may only retrieve POP mail from
this server using "get all messages".

Any ideas?

You can now reach parkland

at parkland@dodgeit.com.Mail me! Unless you're a spammer of course. Politeness prevents me from saying what you can go and do.

So, the short answer is........

If I want to post from my ipaq, I have to mail the article. Sheesh. Ah well. Problem is that I can't use the mail through the proxy wifi at home. Ick.

I'll keep digging and moaning.

Meantime, Geopod XE is keeping my fingertips sore.

New, shiny, bright

Yups, I browsed the blogger templates, liked what I was and bought the dream. So sue me :)

So, Blogger has hada facelift. New stoof, new tools, new look. Well, it is spring, so that's all great and good.

Except, their new, all singing, all dancing all triffic site crashed IE on my Ipaq when I try to connect to post. So, I'm tethered to a desktop right now, typing this instead of free and roaming. Grrr...

Temporary problem, normal service, etc, etc, etc. There must be a "simple" post page here someplace. I'll go hunt.
